Bill graduated from Century College in White Bear Lake, Minnesota
with an Associate Degree in Chemistry. In 1975, he joined the H.B. Fuller Company in
St. Paul, Minnesota as a laboratory technician in the Hot Melt R&D Laboratory.
During the next 28 years Bill proved himself to be an exceptional product development
chemist, and developed many of the first products for such applications as diaper
construction and elastic attachment adhesives.
In 1990, Bill became H.B. Fullers first Hot Melt Research
Fellow, the companys highest technical rank, and in 2002 he received the
companys Annual Technical Achievement Award.
Some of Bills career highlights include:
- Inventor of more than two dozen patents
- Developed glue stick formulations with unique
temporary PSA properties
- Developed first truly multi-purpose nonwoven
adhesive based on patented ultra-high molecular weight SBC technology
- Developed novel wetness indicating hot melt
- Developed state of the art elastic attachment hot
